RoBear's Hickory Smoked Salsa was born in 1997 in Carrollton , Texas , through the combination of hand smoked and roasted jalapeño peppers with a traditional South Texas family salsa recipe. RoBear's founders (Robin and Bear) began by giving the jars of salsa out as Christmas gifts to their families and friends.

By Christmas of 2000, orders for RoBear's far exceeded the number of jars that could be produced at home, so RoBear's contracted out the manufacturing to Willie B's, in Rockwall, Texas. After a few years in the salsa business, and with 3 national awards under their belt, RoBear's founders took a couple of years off to concentrate on raising a couple of their own little jalapeño peppers.

In 2006, after unsuccessfully searching high and low for some type of a suitable replacement for their beloved RoBear's Hickory Smoked Salsa, RoBear's founders reentered the business and created Ro-Bear's Gourmet Foods, LLC. The recipe and ingredients haven't changed, but an improvement in the manufacturing process has given RoBear's the opportunity to provide you with even fresher vegetables, straight from the smoker.

In 2007, RoBear's introduced three new products: RoBear's Candy Jalapenos, RoBear's Jalapeno Pickles and RoBear's Honey Jalapeno BBQ Sauce to add to its line of Hot, Medium and Mild Hickory Smoked Salsas.

RoBear's products are available at these Kroger Stores:  all three Kroger stores located in Frisco (Main/Teel, Legacy/Lebanon, and Preston/ Rolater), four Kroger stores in Plano (121/Coit Road, Parker/Tollway, Custer/Parker, and Park/ Preston), and two Kroger store in Allen (Exchange/Greenville and McDermott/ Alma) and one Kroger store in Dallas (Mockingbird/Central).  Robear's is also available at A Little Bit of Texas (at their storefront in Pottsboro, Texas and through their website), Harry Nat & Bernies in Plano, Texas and through the Applebee Merchantile in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Also now, you can find us in Central Texas at the Oakville Grocery and Fresh Plus in Austin, Texas.
